What is this all about?
I'm Oliver Emberton, and I commit myself to continual 30 day challenges. So should you.
Why 30 days?
30 days appears to be the right length to form a new habit. Too short and I wouldn’t really be stretching myself; too long and I might feel like I couldn’t survive to the end.
Cooking challenge day 13: Salmon Eggs Benedict
|
One of my favourite dishes and a bit more of a challenge – this doesn’t take long, but it did require I tried poaching for the first time.
Cooking challenge day 13: My 2nd ever dinner party
|
Following my first ever dinner party last week, I invited over my good friends Billy and Mel for a meal.

If you’d like to see just how my Valentines Day dinner party went, here’s a short video.
Cooking challenge day 12: Macaroni cheese
|
Before the storm comes the calm. Tomorrow I’ll be throwing a 3 course dinner party, filming it, and putting my guest’s opinions up on the Interwebs. So today, I chose something simple.
Cooking challenge day 11: French style chicken, kinda
|
Today didn’t go quite according to plan.
Cooking challenge day 10: Thai green chicken curry
|
Today needed to be simpler after the unrelenting carnage of yesterday’s dinner party. I plumped for a thai curry.
Cooking challenge day 9: My first dinner party
|
Today was Valentines, and my first ever dinner party. For two. Married. Women.
Cooking challenge day 8: A Polish tribute
|
If you followed yesterday’s challenge, you’ll know I stayed up till 3am rearranging my dining area to be fit for guests.
Cooking challenge day 7: Lasagne
|
Today I wanted to cook something more complicated. So I naively decided to attempt lasagne.
Cooking challenge day 6: Hot & sour noodle soup
|
Today I learnt never to cook when tired. Pretty much everything went wrong with this one.
