Challenge / Cook a new meal every day for 30 days.
Today I wanted to cook something more complicated. So I naively decided to attempt lasagne (here’s the recipe I followed).
By now, I’d learnt to measure out all my ingredients in advance, and even bought some little bowls to hold them:
I made both the tomato and white sauces from scratch – that’s my first ever non-stick pan by the way:
Astoundingly, the whole thing went well and the end resulted tasted … delicious. No-one is more surprised than me. I don’t even particularly like lasagne!
I haven’t just been cooking. This is a sample of what I bought this weekend:
- My first non-stick pan (!)
- My first measuring jug (!)
- A whisk (!)
- Knives sharp enough to cut with (!)
- Garlic press
- A food processor
- Fruit juicer
- New shelving
Here’s some of the mess that’s been making:
I also emptied my freezer – which hadn’t been used in 2 years, and was in quite a state. Out went the ice cream with a best before date of 2009, and in went my home made surplus sauces!
What. Is. Happening. To. Me.
Once I’ve finished moving this room around, I should have much more cooking space and a table fit for four people – all in time for tomorrow.
Minor problem – it’s currently 1:45am. Best get back to work…
